Conquering Singapore's Education System

He participated Singapore Math Kangaroo Contest 2022 Primary 4 and got a  Bronze medal   again. Bronze Award 9 , school rank 5th , country rank 158th . Compared to last year result:  Bronze Award 6 , school rank 12th , country rank 170th .

In a way, yes, the conduct is more important than grades ! He achieved excellent conduct in Primary 3 (both semesters). That's pleased to know. The rests will follow. I do keep track his learning progress. One of the biggest achievement: complete all 4 years Mathematics test papers at primary 3 level.

The Gifted Education Programme (GEP) is an enrichment programme designed to nurture intellectually gifted students to realize their fullest potential . It was introduced in 1984 by the Ministry of Education (MOE) as part of reforms to create an education system that caters to diverse talents and learning aptitudes. Gifted pupils would follow the regular curriculum and take the same examinations as those in the mainstream, but with additional subjects, greater depth of coverage and exposure to varied learning experiences such as project work and field trips . The process of identifying pupils for the GEP involved a series of special tests at the end of Primary 3. Selection begins in August when Primary 3 pupils sit for an initial screening test of 100 questions that assessed their quantitative reasoning, reading comprehension and vocabulary. He completed all 2018 Primary 6 Mathematics test paper on November 27, 2021 with an average score of: SA1: 82.58% and SA2: 85.5% . Total: 28x test. As SA2 is the preliminary examination, his expected PSLE score for Mathematics shall be AL2 (for now).  He has 3 more years to hone his skills further. All the best. 

I asked my boy (Primary 3) to solve the 6x PSLE 2021 Mathematics questions.  He got 4x out of 6x correct by himself and 2x with my help initially at the start. Thereafter, he was able to complete the question correctly too. : ) In total, I gave him 80% marks for the 6x PSLE 2021 questions. As for the famous Helen and Ivan question,  he got it correct! His way of solving was kind of interesting.  Below were his works for the first 5x questions. He needs to learn how to present his procedures properly/neatly/clearly.  He has 2+ years to improve on presentation. This is the number 6th question, which he got it right too.
